In this tutorial we will show you how to disable the death screen on your Minecraft Server using a gamerule command. This can be used for PVP servers or minigame servers that require an instant respawn mechanic.

  1. Head over to your server Console or enter into your Minecraft Server.
  2. Enter the command /gamerule doImmediateRespawn true (ensuring to keep the upper case letters). This allows players to skip the death screen by instantly respawning upon death. Similarily, do /gamerule doImmediateRespawn false to revert and have the death screen appear when they die. Please note that these commands are case sensitive.

  3. That's it! When a player next dies on your server, they will no longer see the respawn screen below and will instantly respawn back into the world.
