In this tutorial we will show you how to Disable Mob Loot Drops on your server using a gamerule command. This will disable both hostile and friendly mobs when dying.

  1. Head over to your server Console or enter into your Minecraft Server.
  2. Enter the command /gamerule doMobLoot false (ensuring to keep the upper case letters). This'll prevent all mobs from dropping items. Similarily, do /gamerule doMobLoot true to re-enable item drops. Please note that these commands are case sensitive.

  3. That's it! Hostile mobs and friendly animals will no longer drop loot upon being slayed.
    No more loot drops

If you're looking to disable only non-mob drops such as item frames, you will have to use the doEntityDrops command, a tutorial for which can be found here: https://serverminer.com/article/how-to-disable-entity-drops-on-your-minecraft-server/
